The Roner distillery in Tramin is one of the best known and most renowned distilleries in South Tyrol and in the whole of Italy. The company was founded in 1946 by Matthias Roner and is now run in the third generation by the brothers Günther and Karin Roner. The distillery specialises in the production of fine spirits and liqueurs high-quality, regional ingredients. The Roner distillery is particularly well known for its fruit brandies, which are made the ripe fruits of the surrounding orchards. These include apples, pears, plums and apricots. In addition to fruit brandies and liqueurs, the Roner distillery also offers a wide range of grappas, including varieties such as Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Lagrein. The grappas are made the pomace residues of grapes grown in the surrounding vineyards. The Ron distillery attaches great importance to the gentle and sustainable production of its products. For example, only fully ripe fruits are used and the use of artificial flavours and colourings is completely avoided. The company also relies on environmentally friendly processes and technologies in production. The high quality standards of the Roner distillery have already received several awards. For example, the company received the coveted title of "Distillery of the Year" and was awarded numerous gold medals at international spirits competitions. The Ron distillery is not only popular with gourmets and spirits lovers, but also with tourists visiting the region. The company regularly offers guided tours of the distillery, where visitors can gain an insight into the production of the fine drops and also taste them.
