Gorgeous, glowing gold. Nutty, lots of ripe apricot fruit, both fresh and dried, and an ash and tobacco lift, but very elegant as well as concentrated. Fabulous, endlessly long, complex and youthful."

Ribolla Gialla teilt sich übrigens rund die Hälfte ihrer genetischen Eigenheiten mit Heunisch Weiss, einer Rebsorte, die einst über weite Teile Europas verbreitet war und Gemeinsamkeiten mit vielen Reben (unter anderem Chardonnay) aufweist. Eine andere Rebsorte, die eng mit Ribolla Gialla verwandt scheint, ist Gewürztraminer. Beide können als Eltern der Ribolla Gialla im Friaul angesehen werden."
