Undisputedly symbolic of the Speri company, the Amarone Monte Sant'Urbano is a superb example of a fine, classic wine. It is an extraordinary wine with great complexity and a vigorous structure which has always been top for its elegance and quality. After carefully selecting the best bunches the prestigious Monte Sant'Urbano vineyard, the grapes are left to dry for a long period (3-4 months depending on the vintage year). This creates a wine with plenty of structure and softness which will certainly age well.
Regular season untill the end of July, after some very hot days the weather changed and we had a lot of rain in the first two weeks of August and almost everyday we had some rain untill September 15th. The harvest was a little complicated, but we had reduced the grapes during the summer to avoid infections, so the result is better than expected.
Lively, ruby red in colour with violet reflexes. On the nose, vinous, rich in fruit and flower aromas. On the palate, full and harmonic. Being so round and pleasant, it is a very versatile wine and a perfect match for a wide variety of dishes antipasti to meat and cheeses.
Very concentrated red ruby color, intense fruity smells, ripe cherry , rose, sweet spices, liquorices and cocoa. The taste is quite persistent and balanced.
"Cru" produced by Sangiovese and Merlot grapes grown in the 6 hectares core parcel of the Siepi vineyard, situated at an altitude of 260 m. (853 ft.).Concentration and complexity make it a wine with an authentic and unique temperament.

This is a splendid dessert wine, that goes well with typicall Veronese desserts like pandoro, panettone, (a type of cake) and shortbread, but it can also be served with soft and flavourful cheese like blue cheese.
This dark ruby colored wine opens with a mild vanilla oak and leather bouquet with hints of earthy blackberry. On the palate, it is medium bodied, balanced, and easy going. The flavor profile is a gentle oak and mild raspberry blend with a touch of soft black cherry.
