Characteristic: The ideal conditions for a well structured red wine are found at the small, 4.5 ha Pfarrhof. The mild, lake climate and the warm chalky gravel, as well as the densely planted vines and the low yields of 40 hl/ha form this special wine's foundation. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, a 20 month aging in wooden casks and bottling the wine unfiltered, make this wine into a true experience. The wine, with its intense, ruby-violet color, has a nose of blackberries, licorice, cinnamon and underbrush. On the palate, the wine is powerful with dense tannins and a long finish.
Recommendation: This wine should be partnered with red meats, game or piquant cheeses.
