The Schreckbichl Winery, also known as Cantina Produttori Colterenzio, is one of the best-known wineries in South Tyrol, a region in the northern part of Italy known for its excellent wine-growing areas. The winery was founded in 1960 by a group of winegrowers and has its headquarters in Schreckbichl, a small village in the municipality of Girlan. Today, the Schreckbichl Winery is one of the largest cooperatives in South Tyrol and has more than 300 members spread over a total of 650 hectares of vineyards. The winegrowers cooperate closely with each other and share their knowledge to produce first-class wines that reflect the terroir and climate of the region. The Schreckbichl winery is known for its white wines, which are mainly made the Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Grigio grape varieties. The vineyards are located at altitudes between 200 and 900 metres above sea level, which gives the wines their unique aroma and structure.
