Vinification: Traditional temperature controlled fermentation for about 10 days in stainless steel tanks. Afterwards, malolactic fermentation and storage partially in large wooden barrels (22hl) of French oak and/or stainless steel tanks.
Tasting notes: Our Pinot Nero Elena Walch shines in clear, fresh ruby red. A fruity play of aromas of red berries, cherries and raspberries as well as spicy notes with some white pepper characterizes the bouquet. In the mouth, the wine convinces with juicy structure and inviting freshness, with soft, velvety tannins, discreet spices in the background and a youthful, elegant finish.

Elena Walch is a respected winemaker and producer of quality wines the South Tyrolean wine-growing region in Italy. With this wine we want to express the typical nature of the red wines our production area. This red wine is the combination of the lightness and of the Schiava, the pleasant fruity richness of the Pinot Noir and the velvety and quite full-bodied bouquet of the Lagrein. This is a wine that goes well with grilled and roast meats, game and spicy cheeses.
St. Magdalener is a typical South Tyrolean red wine made Vernatsch and Lagrein grapes, of a pleasing colour that ranges ruby to garnet. It has a wide pallet of fruity flavours, almonds to wild cherries, which expand and intensify on the palate. It is delicate yet has a powerful structure.
The Südtiroler Edelvernatsch, also known as Schiava, is a light-bodied wine, whose color is light ruby to deep ruby red. It is pleasant and fruity on the palate, often with a touch of bitter almonds.
On the southern slopes surrounding Bolzano, the Schiava and Lagrein grapes ripen, which this round red wine is made. The velvety taste and the typical aroma with hints of almonds and violets give character to this appreciated wine.
