VARIETY: 100 % SAUVIGNON BLANC
PRODUCTION AREA: Selected vineyards with south-east exposure located in Pinzon (350 m) and the hills around the Kaltersee. The cooler micro-climate in this altitude with its high termical excursions (-15°C between day and night) is ideal for the formation of some aromatic compounds in Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
VINEYARDS: The main flavours of Sauvignon Blanc come primarily aromatic compounds formed in the vineyard. To save this characters all through to the bottle, Sauvignon blanc needs a different vineyard management then other varieties. All our vineyards are planted on the modern Guyot-system (6-10 years old) which allows us to optimize vineyard work.
SOIL PROPERTIES: Deep clay soils with 15-30 % slope
VINIFICATION: After a short Skin-contact periode (4-8 h) the grapes were pressed softly, decanted and finally fermented separately in Stainless steel tanks at low temperatures to retain the classic regional qualities.
TASTING NOTES: Pale straw yellow with green highlights. Fresh, lively and owerflowing with tropical aromas such as pineapple, passionfruit and mango. The fresh, mouthfilling flavours are backed by a fine acidity giving it length and perfect balance. This wine is an excellent accompainment to asparagus, seafood and warm starters.

SHELF LIFE: 2-3 years

The Castelfeder Winery is a renowned producer of quality wines the Italian region of South Tyrol. The winery was founded in 1969 by Alfons Giovanett, who at that time already had many years of experience in wine production. Today, the family business is managed by Günther Giovanett, the son of the founder. The winery is located near Neumarkt in South Tyrol and covers a total of 50 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are situated at altitudes between 200 and 700 metres above sea level and are planted on different soil types, which gives the wines a unique diversity. The grape varieties grown on the estate are mainly autochthonous varieties such as Lagrein, Vernatsch, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Noir. Castelfeder attaches great importance to the gentle and sustainable cultivation of the vineyards in order to ensure the high quality of the grapes. In the cellar, too, attention is paid to gentle processing methods in order to preserve the natural aromas and flavours of the grapes in the best possible way. The wines of Castelfeder are characterised by their elegance, finesse and complexity and are internationally appreciated for their high quality. Castelfeder is particularly well known for its Lagrein wines, which are made the autochthonous grape variety Lagrein. These wines are characteristic for their powerful structure and their spicy aromas of berry fruits and chocolate. But also the other wines of the winery, such as the fresh Vernatsch or the full-bodied Pinot Noir, convince with their fine balance and distinct personality. All in all, Castelfeder is a winery with a long tradition and a deep understanding of wine production in South Tyrol. The wines of the winery are of high quality and reflect the unique landscape and culture of the region.

elegant and robust white wine, COLOUR yellow with greenish hues to light yellow, NOSE fruity with scents of peach and green apple, TASTE dry, robust, long finish, fresh
An elegant frame and fine consistency, with intense fruity notes. An excellent structure that is flavoursome and mineral, with a persistent palate. We recommend serving this wine with refined dishes, including meats.
This wine is pale yellow in colour with green reflections and characterises the variety with it's diversity of aromas: mature fruits such as apple and pear and bananas mixed with exotic fruit notes of mango and a trace of honey. Slightly spicy, well structured and full in the mouth with a mineral finish on the palate.
An intensive white wine - not just in colour, but in fragrance and taste. The secret of this white wine lies in the special features of the area in which it is cultivated: Lahn in Appiano. These vineyards only produce a small yield, yet what they produce is typified by sustained character and quality. Its delicious and strong aromas, reminiscent of elderberry and honey, leave behind an abundance of lingering sensations on the palate. This wine, served straight the cellar, makes a huge impression even when served young: a long maturing process in the bottle, however, enhances its density and its complexity.
