yr. 2019 Wine Enthusiast:

95 of 100 Points.

"Wine Enthusiast" has rated the wine "Joseph Drouhin Clos des Mouches" from the vintage 2019 on 01.12.2021 with 95 of 100 points.

"This powerful, ripe Pinot Noir is a bold expression of the famed vineyard. Rich in extraction, the fleshy, velveteen sip is packed with black cherry and blueberry flavors accented by charred earth, crushed peppercorn and anise. Fine-grained but furry tannins are approachable young, but this solidly built wine should hit peak from 2024 through 2035 and hold much longer still. Anna Lee C. Iijima"

yr. 2017 Wine Enthusiast:

92 of 100 Points.

"Wine Enthusiast" has rated the wine "Joseph Drouhin Clos des Mouches" from the vintage 2017 on 01.12.2020 with 92 of 100 points.

"In this wine, an initial flash of ripe, black cherry blows off to reveal a gentle note of vanilla. The palate comes in with unexpected freshness. A bright body showcases red rather than black cherry, supported by filigreed tannins and a hint of rounded smokiness that recalls a cured meat. The finish offers a concentrated, fresh and a wonderful blend of smokiness and red fruit. Anne Krebiehl MW"

yr. 2015 Vinum Wine Magazine:

18 of 20 Points.

"Vinum Wine Magazine" has rated the wine "Joseph Drouhin Clos des Mouches" from the vintage 2015 on 01.05.2020 with 18 of 20 points.

92 of 100 Points.

"Adrian van Velsen - vvWine.ch" has rated the wine "Joseph Drouhin Clos des Mouches" from the vintage 1999 on 01.06.2016 with 92 of 100 points.

yr. 2010 Wine Enthusiast:

94 of 100 Points.

"Wine Enthusiast" has rated the wine "Joseph Drouhin Clos des Mouches" from the vintage 2010 on 01.01.2013 with 94 of 100 points.

"This rich, powerful and juicy wine is just bursting out of its wood aging bounds. It has opulent red-berry flavors, a core of firm tannins and intense acidity. Ripe and fruity, this is full of aging potential."

yr. 2007 Wine Enthusiast:

93 of 100 Points.

"Wine Enthusiast" has rated the wine "Joseph Drouhin Clos des Mouches" from the vintage 2007 on 01.07.2012 with 93 of 100 points.

"With a ripe texture, this is developing into a delicious wine. It has richness, allied to the lighter structure of 2007, the acidity and red fruits driving right through the beautifully perfumed wine."

yr. 2008 Wine Enthusiast:

94 of 100 Points.

"Wine Enthusiast" has rated the wine "Joseph Drouhin Clos des Mouches" from the vintage 2008 on 01.01.2011 with 94 of 100 points.

"With its famed medieval script label, this is classic wine from Drouhin. This 2008 has all the typical buttery richness while also showing structure, texture and an impressive edge of tension. For aging six years or more."

yr. 2006 Wine Enthusiast:

94 of 100 Points.

"Wine Enthusiast" has rated the wine "Joseph Drouhin Clos des Mouches" from the vintage 2006 on 01.01.2009 with 94 of 100 points.

"This is rich, opulent Pinot Noir, its ripe strawberry, black cherry and sweet plums brimming out of the glass. The core of tannins, and smoky wood are more serious, offering aging potential. The wine is young, beautifully ripe, mouthfilling and hedonistic."

yr. 2005 Wine Enthusiast:

94 of 100 Points.

"Wine Enthusiast" has rated the wine "Joseph Drouhin Clos des Mouches" from the vintage 2005 on 01.01.2008 with 94 of 100 points.

"The oldest property owned by the Drouhin family has produced a wine that is initially withdrawn, showing its herbal, earthy character, before releasing an explosion of sweet berries, spice and irresistible freshness and acidity. The aftertaste is firm, and the fruit is very much in place."

yr. 2002 Wine Enthusiast:

93 of 100 Points.

"Wine Enthusiast" has rated the wine "Joseph Drouhin Clos des Mouches" from the vintage 2002 on 01.01.2006 with 93 of 100 points.

"Drouhin owns more thanof this vineyard, which they've made famous around the globe. Slightly stinky when first poured, this opens into a beautiful glass of Burgundy, delivering black cherries, minerals and exotic spice notes in waves of wonderfully silky fruit. Great length on the finish. Drink now-2015, or beyond, depending on your preferences."

yr. 2001 Wine Enthusiast:

90 of 100 Points.

"Wine Enthusiast" has rated the wine "Joseph Drouhin Clos des Mouches" from the vintage 2001 on 01.01.2003 with 90 of 100 points.

"This is an obvious but delectable white Burgundy. It's smoky and toasty, with upfront oak, yet the wood is amply backed by layers of grilled peaches and citrus. It's ripe and plump and ready to drink now and over the next several years."

yr. 2009 Andreas Larsson - Tasted:

86 of 100 Points.

"Andreas Larsson - Tasted" has rated the wine "Joseph Drouhin Clos des Mouches" from the vintage 2009 with 86 of 100 points.

"Slightly closed on the nose, very youthful with freshly crushed red berries and some floral notes; the palate is offering sweet fruit with hints of confiture jam , still shows a good level of freshness and young tannins, some spicy notes of ginger and orange peel, good length - should have fine potential - drink from 2013-2014."

17 of 20 Points.

"Bettane et Desseauve" has rated the wine "Joseph Drouhin Clos des Mouches" from the vintage 2018 with 17 of 20 points.

"Corps et parfum classiques de cette cuvée, légèrement vanillés, tout en élégance, sans rien d'appuyé. Peut-être un peu trop lisse pour être vraiment grand."
