Very concentrated red ruby color, intense fruity smells, ripe cherry , rose, sweet spices, liquorices and cocoa. The taste is quite persistent and balanced.
grape: Lambrusco a foglia frastagliata. The grapes for this special wine are harvested in the second half of October by hand. Its ruby-red color fits the complex fruit aromas, particularly reminding about small forest fruits.
Es, according to Sigmund Freud: it is instinct and wild passion - the same used to produce this wine - with no conditions, no rules, beyond space and time, logic or moral. It doesn't know good and bad. Es submits to one principle only: "PLEASURE".
A rather fresh appearance to this wine's colour. The nose has the same character, bright and fresh, with a light cherry aroma. The palate has a leaner character than I was perhaps expecting , although the fruit profile is as expected and it certainly has a rather appealing grippy structure beneath it all.
Intense in color with dark ruby red reflections. On the nose, aromas of dark berries such as blackberries, currants and blueberries. Soft on the palate, well balanced with an aromatic finish of undergrowth and spices.
Grape Variety: Merlot 100%. Only made Merlot, Galatrona is one of the most awarded wines of the estate. Wine of great structure on the palate and widly aromatic on the nose. Galatrona is Petrolo's flagship.
Characteristics: The wine has significant organoleptic characteristics: a good ruby red colour with garnet reflections; an enveloping bouquet with notes of liquorice, red brushwood fruits, hints of violet and spices; the taste has a characteristic fine, persistent sapidity and an elegant sensation of fullness enriched by rounded tannins which merge with its vibrant structure. Excellent with meat and game dishes as well as strong flavoured cheeses. A wine aged for long periods, with a longevity of over 15 years.
