Müller Thurgau - South Tyrol DOC. Production area: Selected vineyards in the lower South Tyrolean area. This Müller-Thurgau (cross between Riesling and Silvaner) grows at almost 900 m above sea level in one of the highest vineyards in South Tyrol. Extreme temperature changes up to 15 ° C favor the growth of this vine, which develops very intense floral and fruity aromas at this altitude on sandy gravelly soils with a percentage of clay. Sandy gravelly soils with clay content. Vinification: Manual harvest, soft pressing, alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel, aging on the fine lees for 6 months. Food pairing: Sweet water fish, crustaceans, molluscs, poultry and white meats. Serving temperature: 10 - 12°C. Ageing potential: min. 5 years. Bottle to: 750 ml - 75 cl - 0,75 lt. Producer: Castelfeder Winery The Castelfeder Estate Winery was founded in Egna more than 50 years ago by Alfons Giovanett, but since that time, hardly anything has remained the same. “The product line has been expanded, production has increased, the processes in the winery have been modernized, and the market has become more international,” says Günther Giovanett, who took over the estate his father Alfons and runs it with his children Ivan and Ines. Today, the Castelfeder Estate Winery encompasses 65 hectares, on which 70 percent is planted with white wine varieties.“The focus is on Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon Blanc,” Giovanett explains. With the red wines, the concentration is on Pinot Noir.

The Castelfeder Winery is a renowned producer of quality wines the Italian region of South Tyrol. Today, the family business is managed by Günther Giovanett, the son of the founder. The winery is located near Neumarkt in South Tyrol and covers a total of 50 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are situated at altitudes between 200 and 700 metres above sea level and are planted on different soil types, which gives the wines a unique diversity. The grape varieties grown on the estate are mainly autochthonous varieties such as Lagrein, Vernatsch, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Noir. Castelfeder attaches great importance to the gentle and sustainable cultivation of the vineyards in order to ensure the high quality of the grapes. The wines of Castelfeder are characterised by their elegance, finesse and complexity and are internationally appreciated for their high quality. Castelfeder is particularly well known for its Lagrein wines, which are made the autochthonous grape variety Lagrein. These wines are characteristic for their powerful structure and their spicy aromas of berry fruits and chocolate. But also the other wines of the winery, such as the fresh Vernatsch or the full-bodied Pinot Noir, convince with their fine balance and distinct personality. All in all, Castelfeder is a winery with a long tradition and a deep understanding of wine production in South Tyrol. The wines of the winery are of high quality and reflect the unique landscape and culture of the region.
