A pilgrim of the world successfully cultivated in both old and new wine regions, Sauvignon Blanc has adapted also to the climate of Trentino Alto Adige. Together with Cabernet Franc is the parent to Cabernet Sauvignon, which was created a spontaneous field crossing in Bordeaux, probably in the 18th century. That would already be enough to place it on top of the pyramid of the greatest international wine variety. Its intense and easily recognizable flavor has captured the attention of many consumers. Deor typically includes gooseberries, asparagus and many others “herbaceous†aroma (Methoxypyrazines). Our search for the authenticity of this variety has led us to the creation of Blanc.
A vine crossing named after Professor Luigi Manzoni born the between Riesling and Pinot Blanc. its parents Manzoni bianco inherited the advantages of both: good body, aromaticity, longevity and an adaptability to various vineyard soils and climate conditions. The resulting wine has an intense aroma of white flowers and fruit with a hint of spicy notes. After a few years of aging in bottle, it shows typical aromas in a manner similar to an aged Riesling and, like Riesling, it is an early to mid-ripening grape variety.
Nosiola is the only autochthonous white variety in Trentino, known to be existing since the 16th century in the region. Although the origin of the name has not been clarified yet, for most experts it derives “Nocciola†(hazelnut), due to the color of the grapes and the stalk when ripe. Others believe that the aroma of the wines reminiscent wild hazelnuts. What we know is that it is a versatile variety, which like few others can produce both great world class sweet wines and still white wines, with a savory character and a crisp acidity that can age for many decades.
