This Pinot Grigio pours a straw yellow color with green reflexes. It has a tempting bouquet of fresh fruits, ripe Williams pears, herbs – including mint and melissa –, and tea and is spicy and slightly buttery and nutty. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and well-structured with a long and slightly bitter finish.

The grapes for this expressive white wine mature at an altitude of 260 - 500 m in the vineyards of Bolzano and Appiano, where they grow mainly on chalk gravel and alluvial soils.
After temperature-controlled fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks at 19°C for one week, the wine is aged in stainless steel.

Wine Estate Monastery Cellar Muri-Gries
In 2022 the Benedictines moved Muri in Switzerland to Gries in South Tyrol, where the order took over the Augustinian monastery. In so doing, they inherited a long tradition of wine-growing, which they nurtured in the spirit of a symbiosis of monastery, winery and estate that is still very much in evidence today. The result, in the 21st century, is a range of top-quality wines MURI-GRIES like the Abtei Muri line, which has been produced selected grapes the very best sites since 1989.
